Sky Tracks installation in Jayco Campers from mid 2022 to present:
It has just come to our attention that Jayco have changed the ceiling construction of their campers.
Instead of a 3mm timber ply ceiling panel there is now a stippled 1mm plastic ceiling panel.
We are concerned that the 1mm plastic panel will not hold a screw.
So we recommend that the Sky Tracks aluminium profile is not installed to the ceiling. This is for Jayco campers from mid 2022 onwards.
We also do not recommend gluing the profile to the ceiling either as the connection is only as good as what it is glued to. The 1mm ceiling panel is glued to white polystyrene foam and we are concerned that this is not a strong enough bond to hold the Sky Tracks and subsequent loads.
There is also minimal timber internal blocking in the ceiling panel that we could find that was in a suitable place to take screws.
